THE GROUP'S HISTORY DATES BACK TO 1825 AND THE CREATION OF THE VERRERIE-CRISTALLERIE D'ARQUES This small family-owned business experienced spectacular growth after the First World War, under the guidance of its managers: Georges Durand and his son Jacques. |
1930
AS EARLY AS 1930, THE VERRERIE-CRISTALLERIE D'ARQUES STOOD OUT AS A PIONNER. It was the first company in France to install a tank furnace and presses. A few years later, it installed the first glass-blowing machines. These technologies were imported from the United States and relatively unknown in Europe. |
1968
FROM THE OUTSET, THE COMPANY KEPT INNOVATING, MAKING BEAUTIFUL PRODUCTS THAT EVERYONE COULD AFFORD. It was the first company in France to sell glasses with decorations and to automate opal glass manufacturing. In 1968, it automated the production of crystal glasses with stems. This was a world revolution in the industry at the time! Thanks to its audacity and success, the Verrerie-Cristallerie d'Arques grew into an international industrial group. |
2000
THE GROUP WAS RENAMED ARC INTERNATIONAL IN 2000, AND CONTINUES TO INNOVATE FROM ITS BASE IN ITS HOME REGION. With its revolutionary materials and inventive collections, Arc has contributed to both the history of glass-making and tableware... and continues to do so! Each day, the company’s teams draw on their creativity and expertise to meet users’ needs. They imagine and design the shapes, technologies and materials of the future. |
2016
ARC INTERNATIONAL BECOMES ARC. A new graphic identity and new name reflecting the Group’s ambitions! |
